Diverse Tasks: From creating, distributing, and tracking return goods authorizations to coordinating MRD outbound shipments, your role is both dynamic and engaging.
Your Role In a NutshellAs a Transportation Administrator, your responsibilities will include:
  • Creating, distributing, and tracking return goods authorizations.
  • Adjusting open order transfer price changes.
  • Creating and analyzing monthly reports, including load counts, railcar trace, and open orders.
  • Processing West coast orders, Bills of Lading, and less than truckload shipments.
  • Handling all Harrisburg site MRD orders, maintaining production logs, and obtaining freight rates for quoting.
  • Reviewing and auditing all LTL and FTL invoices for charges and verifying against quotes.
  • Monitoring railcar status via web sites, conducting research on issues, and communicating discoveries with the transportation manager and customers.
  • Coordinating MRD outbound shipments, scheduling carriers, trucks, LTL, and brokers.
  • Managing various office duties and acting as a full backup to transportation clerk responsibilities.
  • Investigating and resolving issues with carriers, LTL, pricing, and departmental inquiries.
  • Covering Transportation Manager's duties during absences, acting as a liaison between sales and production, and assigning trailers for loading various products.
  • Acting as a 3rd backup for Customer Service desk.

  • Customer Focus: Responsible for the timely and accurate communication between the customer, sales, production, and transportation.
  • Team Effectiveness: Requires presence in the workplace on a regular basis and the ability to work extra hours if needed to meet daily objectives. Work with supporting functions such as production and customer service to set and ensure service and lead-time targets are met. Act as a mentor to new employees.

Knowledge, Experience, And Skills Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of general office and customer service experience, with a background in transportation being a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • High ability to multitask and prioritize workload to achieve objectives in a timely manner.
  • Ability to think independently, make decisions, and influence outcomes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel.
  • Effective communicator via email and phone.
