Clemens Food Group is in search of a pivotal Purchasing Agent. This role is instrumental in procuring our plant's essential materials, such as boxes, bags, films, ingredients, and casings. This position oversees the entire purchasing cycle and ensures timely and accurate inventory management, a crucial aspect of our operations. 

Who You Are:

• You have progressed from purchasing clerk or replenishment agent roles and are ready to take the next step in your career. Or perhaps you have experience as a purchasing agent and are looking for a dynamic new opportunity to develop your skills further.
• Proactive: Always a step ahead in meeting inventory needs.
• Detail-oriented: Maintain meticulous records and manage inventory efficiently.
• You have experience with SAP, knowing how to navigate the technology and use it. You are not a developer.
• Communicative: Build and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Analytical: Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage variances effectively.
• You have a process for managing inventory beyond just viewing what is in the system.

What You Will Do:

• Ordering: Use SAP for requisition and purchase orders, ensuring timely materials delivery.
• Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels and manage obsolete inventory. Vendor Management: Cultivate strong vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and conduct business reviews.
• Cost Savings: Achieve cost savings through negotiations and contract reviews.
• Forecast Review: Collaborate with sales analysts and scheduling to ensure accurate production planning.
• Problem Resolution: Resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal teams.

Qualifications:

• Education: A bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) is preferred.
• Experience: Three to five years in purchasing or supply chain management. SAP experience preferred.
• Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
