SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA), the Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) has an eight-hour responsibility, authority, and accountability for the preparing and leading recreation and leisure activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Function as a mental health professional.
2. On site to provide recovery support services. Each resident should have one face-to-face discussion with a CRSS within the first week after admission. One additional individual face-to-face discussion prior to discharge or transfer.
3. CRSS should participate in group and individual meetings to develop a wellness recovery action plan.
SECONDARY DUTIES:
1. Participate in the Annual Abbott House Open House.
2. Plan and schedule quarterly Family Program events in conjunction with the LPHA and Director of Education.
3. Perform other duties as assigned.
LEVEL OF EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
1. High school diploma or GED;
2. Good standing as a Recovery Support Specialist by the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association.
a. Received 100 hours of training and education, including 40 hours in CRSS domains of recovery support, mentoring, advocacy and professional responsibility.
b. 6 hours in professional ethics for CRSS
c. 54 hours related to work of the CRSS
