HIGHLAND PARK POLICE DEPARTMENT is Hiring a Police Officer Near Highland, MI

FULL TIME POLICE OFFICER – CITY OF HIGHLAND PARK, MICHIGAN

****MUST HAVE YOUR MCOLES CERTIFICATION*****

OVERVIEW:

Duties include patrolling the City of Highland Park and enforcing local and state laws and parking regulations; providing service functions including directing traffic and assistance to citizens; responding to emergency situations of accidental, medical, industrial and criminal nature and taking appropriate action as needed.

Additional responsibilities include investigating criminal and non-criminal incident complaints received from the community, writing reports involving incidents for presentation to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office; working with citizens on crime prevention issues and other related tasks and provide other non-criminal complaint services as directed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Resident of the State of Michigan
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Valid MCOLES certification
  • Must pass or have passed the MCOLES physical fitness test
  • Successfully pass comprehensive background investigation, medical examination and drug screen

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ability to reach above and below shoulder level
  • Ability to use hands and arms with repetitive twisting and pressure movements
  • Ability to push and pull objects, climb, stand, walk, stoop, bend, lean, turn and twist body, kneel and squat on repeated basis
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Perform coordinated movements
  • Ability to distinguish colors and shades; listen for and hear distinctive sounds
  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors in all types of weather during the day, evening and night hours

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $34.34 per hour
