City of Park Hills, MO is Hiring a Code Enforcement Officer Near Hills, MO

GENERAL PURPOSE

Responsible for investigating violation of and pursuing compliance with the various sections of the City of Park Hills Municipal Code.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Works under the general supervision of the Community Development Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Interprets and enforces municipal and regulatory codes under the direction of the Community Development Director; meets with planning, building, engineering, fire, police, and legal counsel staff and regulatory agencies regarding complaints; counsels the residential, commercial and industrial committees about compliance with municipal codes.

Enforces various code compliancy programs as they relate to property maintenance, trash/debris accumulation, abandoned vehicle storage and public nuisance abatement; conducts legal investigations regarding code violations; gathers and documents evidence; coordinates and conducts follow-up abatement procedures including the preparation of additional correspondence, site visits, and communications with property owners and attorneys; conducts follow-up investigations, prepares non-compliant cases for legal action and administrative hearings, presents testimony at hearings in court.

Prepares formal complaints for the City Prosecutor’s Office regarding non-compliant code violations; responds to request from the other departmental agencies; receives and responds to citizens’ inquiries and complaints concerning alleged code violations; performs building inspection activities as assigned; enforces provisions of other ordinances, as required.

Prepares reports pertaining to abatements, court actions, daily activities, enforcement actions and inspections for the Community Development Director

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.54 - $21.02 per hour

Expected hours: 29 per week
