Neurodon is a development-stage biopharmaceutical company committed to discovering disease-modifying therapies to improve the lives of patients suffering from life-threatening diseases. The company has leveraged its proprietary ER stress platform to discover and develop first-in-class molecules that slow or reverse disease progression in preclinical models of diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, and several rare and orphan conditions. Neurodon is now preparing for multiple clinical trials and seeks to expand its team to support cultivation of investments, co-development deals, and industry partnerships to enhance the commercial potential of its product candidates.

Position SummaryWe are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Director of Business Development with industry experience to identify, evaluate, and close new business opportunities including investments, strategic partnerships, and co-development arrangements to further the clinical translation of our pipeline assets. With several molecules in IND-enabling stages, the initial focus will be on fundraising activities to support clinical trials.
This position will report directly to the CEO and will involve working remotely from a location within the U.S. We will consider full-time, part-time, or consulting arrangements to support this role.
Responsibilities
  • Utilize personal network and existing resources to identify and engage investors and pharmaceutical partners.
  • Work with management team to negotiate and close transactions, including investments, partnerships, and co-development collaborations.
  • Manage business issues to support investor engagement and negotiations and resolve issues in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain and update a database of business development contacts and activities.
  • Coordinate meetings with partners: agendas, minutes, follow-up activities, etc.
  • Advise on finance matters to assess and optimize deal structures and terms.
  • Complete due diligence packages and work with team to build data rooms to facilitate diligence activities.
Qualifications
  • Track record supporting successful deal closures.
  • Access to an established network of funders and pharmaceutical contacts.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate scientific and technical details along with the big picture strategy.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple business development projects and diligence teams efficiently and independently.
  • A track record of success in sourcing and driving business development opportunities to completion.
  • Deep understanding of drug discovery & development and commercialization.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical alliance structures, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
Education & Experience
  • B.S., or M.S required in a scientific field (biology, chemistry) or a higher degree (MD, PhD) preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in life science and/or biopharmaceutical industries including business development, research & development, or related roles.
