Job Details

IT Manager - IT Operational Management

At iSphere, we are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable IT Manager for a full-time, hybrid opportunity in the Houston, TX area. The chosen candidate will oversee the performance of third-party Managed Service Providers and Managed Security Service Providers. As the IT Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring service agreement performance, ensuring that all hardware and network administration, end user helpdesk, data backup and retention, and other essential duties are carried out efficiently and effectively.

To excel in this role, you should have a minimum of ten to fifteen years of post-graduation experience in the industry. Proven working experience as an IT Director, IT Manager, IT Project Manager, or similar role is required. You should also possess a broad understanding of infrastructure, including network infrastructure, desktop, software and applications, information systems security, data management, and technical personnel management. Knowledge of information security regulatory compliance, such as NIST 800-171, is highly beneficial.

As the IT Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing personnel, whether internal or outsourced. Therefore, strong leadership and management skills are essential. You should hold a recognized Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar field.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure overall IT infrastructure and Information Systems are compatible, secure, and meet the current and future needs of the company.
- Lead IT project management efforts.
- Conduct business analysis for future major IT projects, collecting business requirements and prioritizing projects against the needs of the business and budget allocation.
- Coordinate with software lead users for administration of company utilized software packages.
- Develop and/or approve recommended end-user hardware specifications.
- Coordinate with local Office Managers regarding IT hardware administration and end-user setup.
- Perform routine audits of MSP generated reports to ensure the overall management of IT.
- Draft and submit Incident Reports as necessary to capture adverse incidents impacting the company's information systems.
- Document and evaluate change management activities for material changes impacting the company's IT infrastructure and information systems.
- Conduct security and risk assessments prior to implementing changes to the company's information systems.
- Lead disaster recovery efforts on behalf of the company, ensuring disaster recovery plans are maintained and communicated to relevant stakeholders.

Leadership and Functional Management:

- Lead and mentor personnel within the IT Department.
- Develop and maintain policies, processes, and procedures covering the IT Department's core functional areas.
- Provide training to system users regarding proper use and interaction with the company's information systems and technology.
- Deliver regulatory training for cybersecurity and information systems security.
- Prepare the Department Plan, capturing annual department objectives, KPIs, hiring, training, and budget components, for approval by the VP of Business Operations.
- Prepare the annual IT Department budget and monitor actual spend.
- Participate in the corporate management team.

Working Conditions:

- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of job location.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and outside normal working hours to accommodate time differences.
- Must be willing to work at least a hybrid work schedule, with no less than two days per week in the office.
- Willingness to travel and work from different locations as required.
