GEA Group is Hiring a Metal Finisher Near Hudson, WI
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.
- Uses blueprints to understand the surface finish requirements of each individual project.
- Uses various pneumatic tools in order to achieve the desired / specified surface finish for each project.
- Polishes, grinds and cleans metal surfaces and welds which at times requires working from heights and in a confined space for up to two (2) hour increments.
- Operates hand trucks, carts, pallet trucks and hoists for movement of materials.
- Detects defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and reports to appropriate lead or supervisor.
- Adheres to company safety policies, procedural guidelines and works in a consistently safe manner.
- -Actively participates in company continuous improvement initiatives.
Your Profile / QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Degree or certificate from technical welding school is preferred.
- Must have a basic understand of relevant welding processes.
- Ability to understand the difference between chemical requirements and dairy 3A standards.
- Must know the different surface finishes on stainless sheet steel and how to protect the surfaces
- Must have good blueprint reading skills.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
