About us

Otter Lake Animal Care Center is a Veterinary Clinic in Hugo, MN. We are a small facility that offers veterinary care, grooming, and boarding. We are a two doctor practice, Dr. Scanlan is the owner who works full-time and Dr. Barb works part-time.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with the care and supervision of pets in a kennel environment
- Feed, water, and exercise pets according to their individual needs
- Clean and sanitize kennels, including bedding and toys
- Monitor the health and behavior of pets, reporting any concerns to the supervisor
- Assist with basic grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing
- Provide basic socialization for dogs
-Maintain cleanliness of the facility: exam rooms, lobby, bathrooms, etc

Requirements:
-Must be 18 years or older
- Previous experience working with dogs/cats is preferred
- Knowledge of dog/cat behavior and basic training techniques
- Ability to handle dogs/cats of various sizes and temperaments safely (including strays)
- Good physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting heavy objects and being on your feet for extended periods of time
- Excellent communication skills to interact with both dogs and their owners
- Ability to work well in a team environment

We are looking for a candidate that would have a flexible schedule and be willing to fill the gaps in our kennel. We are looking for someone who can work mornings and afternoons.
Morning shift: ~8am-~12pm
Afternoon shift: ~3pm-~7pm

Please note that this position may require working on weekends and holidays as animals in our facility require around the clock care.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 – 25 per week
