Description:

Actalent's client is seeking an Electrical CAD Designer to support Exelon-related projects. Candidates should have working knowledge of AutoCAD, with experience designing for electrical engineering projects. Ideal candidates are comfortable utilizing their experience with AutoCAD to learn utilities.

Responsibilities will include:

-Data Collection (semi-regular basis): Capture photos of electrical equipment and power lines during routine inspections, as well as conduct measurements and inspections of utility poles. These images help identify wear, damage, or potential hazards. Field time varies week to week.

-Creating Drawings: Use computer-aided drafting equipment or traditional drafting tools to create working drawings, wiring diagrams, wiring connection specifications, and cross-sections of underground cables.

-Collaborating with Engineering Staff: Electrical drafters work closely with engineering staff and other personnel to resolve any problems that may arise during the drafting/design process

Skills & Qualifications:

-Experience using AutoCAD for electrical design projects, can come from other engineering disciplines (ex: mechanical, structural, civil, etc.)

-Ability to work as part of a team and eager to learn - interest in getting into utilities.

-Coordination skills

-Ability to be a sponge/eager to absorb information

-Seeking an opportunity with a well-known engineering firm to kickstart career

-Ability to commute in-office daily and willingness to do field work
