Assistant Project Manager- SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Project Manager you will be involved in daily contact with customers submitting environmental samples and act as internal liaison with all operational departments for coordination of sample processing, analysis, and delivery of results.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ability to work with others in a team environment and deal with high stress situations in a professional manner. Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
Constant communication with the laboratory management, when dealing with client’s concerns, issues, or technical questions. Communication of client information or requests to the laboratory operation team, sales, sample management and field services.
Serving as the laboratories’ primary point of contact for clients, scheduling of courier deliveries and pick-ups.
Work in conjunction with the lab director, field manager and sales department providing information to or about new and existing clients. Coordination of all subcontracting efforts for projects assigned.
Processing of bottle kits for use by clients in their sampling efforts. This includes completion of appropriate forms to facilitate sample container preparation and delivery, sample pickup, rush sample notification, complaint forms and requests for price quotation.
Careful review of the project information for accuracy. Detail review of reports/EDDs (Electronic Data Deliverables) prior to release; alerts the laboratory director of any concerns or question about the final report.
Qualifications- The individual should be self-motivated, ambitious, hardworking, and able to work independently with an eye for attention to detail. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education requirements: Prior laboratory experience or project management may substitute for degree.BS or BA in chemistry, biology, environmental science or related field will be a plus.
