Community Forklift is a nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting the community through sustainability, creativity, and economic opportunity. We are a reuse warehouse where donated building materials, appliances, furniture, and architectural salvage are made available to neighbors in need, homeowners, nonprofits, contractors, and artists at a low cost or for free.

As a Truck Helper:

• You will assist the truck driver in the safe collection of material donations that are picked up by Community Forklift.
• You will assist the truck driver with the physical management and general upkeep of the truck, including all related tools and equipment.
• You will assist the truck driver with loading/unloading and securing of materials in the truck.
• You will check daily schedule of pickups.
• You will communicate and provide spotting while the truck is maneuvering at job sites.

Truck Helper Job requirements:

• Able to lift and carry 60Lbs or more.
• Able to use and read a tape measure accurately.
• Availability for operating hours 8am-4pm (40 hour work week).
• Construction, carpentry, or handyman experience preferred.
• Experience using manual moving equipment (pallet jack, hand truck, dolly, and push carts) preferred.
• A commitment to the Community Forklift missions of reuse, sustainability, and community service.

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma/GED preferred
• 2 years experience
• 6 years work experience in a warehouse environment or as a driver may be substituted in lieu of education
