JOB SUMMARY :
Requires
Employee to perform a variety of tasks and assignments according to department
procedure for food preparation. Is expected to analyze situations and act
within the scope of standard procedures. Must be able to make accurate and
timely decisions.
Ensuring
that proper safety and sanitation is implemented at all times in the dietary
department.

PRINCIPLE TASKS,
DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in
delivery of patient tray cart to LTAC. Cleans and
sanitizes delivery carts as needed. Participates in
weekly/monthly department meetings and continuing education programs. Practices safety
and high standards of quality in maintenance and sanitation procedures. Accurately
follows oral, pictorial and written instructions. Unpacks, dates
and stocks inventory using the FIFO method of rotation Training of
employees on proper equipment use. Demonstrates
respect and confidentiality for patients and families and all aspects of
patient information. Displays
knowledge of their function in a code situation. Removes refuse
from containers in the kitchen and the serving area. Follows
procedures for refuse disposal of cardboard and bagged refuse. Uses the
appropriate cleaning and sanitizing supplies in specified portions for optimum
cleaning. Performs other
routine cleaning as needed. Maintains floors
in the cafeteria and kitchen according to procedure for proper floor care. Keeps cleaning
supplies in order and replenished when needed. Operates and
maintains the dish machine.
