THE OPPORTUNITYLouisiana Cat is seeking an Electrical Assembly Technician to join our growing operations at the New Iberia, LA location. The role of the Electrical Assembly Technician is to ensure assigned packaging performance objectives are met safely, on schedule, and within budget.
YOUR CONTRIBUTION
  • Electrical wiring of control panels, harnesses and interconnected equipment for engines and generators to meet customer requirements
  • Understand technical drawings, specifications of mechanical and electrical systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements
  • Inspect completed power system and controls installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design, equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards
  • Determine nature, extent and troubleshoot issues, and recommend remedial measures
  • Utilizes corporate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to enter time and project notes
  • Follow and enforce all safety rules and procedures; identify and report all safety issues
  • Complete training requirements identified by Caterpillar to earn and maintain job specific training certifications as required
  • Embrace and support quality management system initiates to achieve a continuous improvement environment
Most Important Qualifications
  • REQUIRED: High School Diploma or (GED) equivalent
  • PREFERRED: 2 year degree or equivalent electrical experience
  • REQUIRED: Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • REQUIRED: Excellent communication skills
  • REQUIRED: Must have own hand tools
JOB FACTS
  • SHIFT SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, some Saturday shifts required. 40 hours a week.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT: Requires physical movement, lifting, squatting, and bending per the job description
