Job Description:

The Software Engineer III will participate in the full software development life cycle of new and existing applications, including requirements analysis and design, development, testing, and documentation.

The Engineer will serve as a technical expert on development projects and collaborate with other departments to create applications that will positively impact client business. The Engineer will support digital innovation and capabilities, both internally and externally.

Core Responsibilities

• Participate in application design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements; write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements
• Contribute to project planning in areas such as budget, iterative improvement, and feedback cycles; own risk mitigation for assigned projects and keep stakeholders apprised of progress in alignment with SLAs
• Create and maintain documentation regarding software application functionality
• Consult with end users to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs and/or resolve technical issues on existing applications
• Conduct market research and identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation
• Test and debug applications, revising programs as needed
• Serve as resource for junior team members; provide feedback for performance appraisals of team members

What You Bring to the Role

Education

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

Knowledge

• 3 – 6 years of experience in software development with increasing responsibility
• Knowledge of best practices in software development; experience conducting competitor and market analysis
• Experience managing stakeholder relationships and expectations

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to self-motivate and own assigned projects; ability to collaborate with peers on team initiatives
• Skill in root cause analysis and confidence to recommend potential solutions based on experience and research

Work Environment

We are a hybrid-remote workplace combining in-office and remote work to varying degrees based on role requirements and employee location. This position is designated as remote but may involve occasional travel for company events.
