SUMMARY:
The Construction Manager (CM) is responsible for administering and coordinating field-based construction activities on assigned projects within a defined geographic region. The incumbent will be focused on timeline adherence and overall successful implementations of construction initiatives for all project areas including carrier installations, new site development, capital improvements on existing assets and backup power. The incumbent will follow operating policies, procedures and standards to ensure property assets are constructed and preserved through sound and consistent construction procedures. The CM is responsible for assuring safety, quality and high client service to both internal and external constituents and ensuring consistent communication to all key stakeholders both internally and externally.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Work with all levels of Network Development, Program Management, Engineering and Network Operations on construction projects for U.S. Tower Operations; manage budgets, schedules, vendors, site designs, material ordering, progress monitoring, site utility coordination and closeouts.
• Execute field team operational procedures to ensure consistent and continuous compliance by all employees and vendors with safety and regulatory requirements, standards and protocols.
• Meet project timelines and deliver quality products
• Proactively identifies potential risk issues and collaborates with the manager to develop a preventative action plan to address them.
• Provide problem resolutions and create good working relationships between the client/customer and field team. Troubleshoots, negotiates and mediates client or subcontractor problems or complaints that arise at site level.
• Develop strong internal and external relationships with key constituents and work with the Site Development team of Network Development and the Program Management team to ensure projects are properly scoped and executed according to plan.
• Maintain milestones within the project database on a daily basis and communicate project updates and timelines to Site Development.
• Coordinate with Regional Construction Manager and Supply Chain to identify and partner with select vendors to perform construction activities and furnish materials for an assigned project; review and approve project expense requests, purchase orders and vendor invoices.
• Reviews close out packages to ensure all pertinent documents are present and responsible for properly archiving the close out documents.
