Job Description

Location: 119-Southern Utah Veterans Home - Ivins, St. George, UT, 84738

Job Summary:

The Infection Control-Nurse is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating infection control policies and procedures to prevent and control infections in the healthcare facility. The nurse will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure that infection control measures are in place and followed to protect patients, staff, and visitors from the spread of infectious diseases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Monitor and investigate outbreaks of infectious diseases in the healthcare facility
  • Provide education and training to healthcare staff on infection control practices
  • Conduct regular infection control audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement infection control plans for patients with communicable diseases
  • Ensure that appropriate personal protective equipment is available and used by healthcare staff
  • Participate in the development and implementation of emergency preparedness plans related to infectious diseases
  • Stay up-to-date with current infection control practices and guidelines

Qualifications:

  • Current nursing license in the state of Utah
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in infection control or related field
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to infection control
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
