Job Summary Under the direction of a licensed physician will assists patients with the care of their feet, administer diagnosis, prescription, and treat diseases, disorders, and injuries. The Podiatry Assistant will assist with the treatment of athlete's foot, blisters, corn removal, hard skin removal, chilblains, gout, in-growing toenails, verrucas, sweaty feet and arthritis.
Duties & Responsibilities Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Conduct examinations of the foot to provide basis for diagnosis and administered treatment.
- Review patient and record patient's case history to determine previous ailments and complaints.
- Perform adequate and appropriate work-up in evaluating potential surgical candidates.
- Evaluate the foot condition to provide the right Orthopedic inserts.
- Take and develop x-rays, provide assistance during surgery, prepare patients for exams, make impressions of feet for orthotics and sterilizing instruments.
- Obtain patient information, gather samples from patients, prepare specimens for testing, record patient vital signs, and set up patient appointments.
- Depth knowledge to assist the physician administering Podiatry related treatment.
- Remarkable experience in providing quality patient care
- Travel to different out reach events as needed with our engagement team
- Provide services at any of the Cano Centers agreed upon

Education & Experience - Minimum of three years' experience working in Podiatry or working as a Medical Assistant.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Certified Clinical Podiatric Medical Assistant (CCPMA) is a plus
- Podiatry X-ray Technician
- CPR or BLS Certification is a plus
- Experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies - Skilled at developing a good rapport with patients
- Committed to delivering high-quality foot and nail care
- Flexible regarding working patterns
- Good knowledge of prescribed medications and their effects
- Profound knowledge to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to administer telephone calls with etiquette
Job Requirements Physical Requirements This position works under usual office conditions. The employee is required to work at a personal computer as well as be on the phone for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand, sit, walk and occasionally climb. The incumbent must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed. Physical demands include ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
