Southstone Leasing is Hiring a Controller Near Jenks, OK

Summary of Responsibilities

Our growing construction company is looking for a Controller to join our team. Controller should be able to successfully complete their tasks and are responsible for the financial and accounting functions of SurRoca and Southstone Construction. SurRoca is a leading producer of redi-mix concrete, dedicated to delivering high-quality products and exceptional service. Southstone Construction specializes in providing comprehensive construction services. Both companies operate with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

The Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of both SurRoca and Southstone Construction. This position will focus on accounting, bookkeeping, financial planning, analysis, reporting, compliance, and cost control. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach, a strong sense of urgency, and a commitment to maintaining high financial standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • Oversee daily financial operations for both SurRoca and Southstone Construction.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledgers, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll.
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure financial health and stability.

Cost Control:

  • Monitor and manage expenses to ensure budget adherence.
  • Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.
  • Prepare regular financial reports and analyze cost performance.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and industry standards.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
  • Oversee audits and inspections to maintain compliance.

Strategic Planning:

  • Assist in developing and implementing strategic financial plans for growth and improvement.
  • Forecast future financial needs and resource requirements.
  • Identify potential financial challenges and develop mitigation strategies.

Detail Orientation:

  • Ensure all financial processes and procedures are followed accurately.
  • Conduct regular audits to maintain high standards of quality and compliance.
  • Pay close attention to detail in all aspects of financial operations.

Communication:

  • Facilitate clear and effective communication between financial staff, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on financial performance and issues.
  • Act as a liaison between the companies and the corporate office.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of cost control, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • Proven ability to execute financial plans and achieve results with urgency.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the concrete or construction industry.
  • Familiarity with batch plant operations and logistics.
  • Certification in financial management or related fields.
