Our organization, a leader in the engineering industry, is seeking a Permanent Senior Corporate Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. As a Senior Corporate Accountant, you will play a critical role in financial decision-making and operations, working to drive profitability and financial success. This role will offer you the opportunity to work with a team of experienced professionals in a fast-paced, rewarding environment. You will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of corporate accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the general ledger.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of budget and financial forecasts.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
- Liaise with our Finance manager and Accounting manager to improve financial procedures.
- Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
- Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Develop monthly financial statements that include cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
- Complete end of month close procedures.
- Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
- Draft financial reports, as required for senior management.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field. A Master's degree in the same fields will be preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a corporate accounting or equivalent role.
- Experience with financial reporting requirements.
- Proven experience with manufacturing accounting, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like FreshBooks and QuickBooks.
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
- Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Professional certification such as CMA, CPA is a plus.
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with services to the public audit, tax is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
