Requirements and Responsibilities:

We have an opening for an entry-level Landfill Gas Technician in the Kansas City, Missouri Area. The Landfill Gas Technician will be performing basic trade activities, such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, piping, carpentry, concrete work, monitoring safety regulations, and performing other duties as assigned. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to;

  • Communicates with the operations manager, surveyors, estimators, contractors, and project managers to ensure that projects are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Cleans and prepares sites for projects.
  • Digs ditches or trenches, backfills excavations, levels pipes.
  • Understands pump controls and piping configurations.
  • Understands landfill drawings and layouts.
  • Understands basic electrical safety requirements.
  • Pulling and cleaning pumps.
  • Cleaning and Jetting pipes.
  • Understands and uses testing, calibration, and monitoring equipment.
  • Understands how SCADA systems operate.
  • Performs various inspections.
  • Glues electrical conduits and fittings for various piping.
  • Performs various maintenance tasks.
  • Welds HDPE pipe and materials.
  • Inventories and requests equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Maintains records and logs of work performed and materials and equipment used.

Additional skills set required for this position:

  • 0-3 years experience in any of the above-listed trades.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Travel expected per scope of work.
  • Experience with plastic piping, electronic controls and excavating is helpful.
  • Valid Drivers license that Passes our MVR policy requirement is required.
  • Solid Waste industry experience is a plus.
  • Ability to sit, stand and bend multiple hours within the workday
  • Work will require travel within Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois in the United States.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
