Join Saint Luke's Health System, a faith-based and not-for-profit organization, as their new Director of Surgical Services in Kansas City, Missouri! 

The Position

• The Director of Surgical Services provides clinical and administrative leadership for the hospital’s Surgical Services department, including Preop, PACU, Sterile Processing, Perianth, Endoscopy, and Neurosurgery. 
• Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Surgical Services will oversee approximately 200 FTEs and will collaborate closely with departmental managers including endoscopy, peri-anesthesiology, neurology, and the OR. 
• The Director of Surgical Services will work to ensure survey readiness, preparation of budgets, accurate financial targets, and patient satisfaction throughout the department and will implement process improvement strategies as needed. 
• This leader will work to improve metrics around throughput, evaluate and improve SPD workflows, and develop recruitment/retention efforts to help fill department vacancies.
• The Director will work closely with the Chair of Surgery and surgeons to develop and maintain a satisfied workforce and will enforce collaboration, communication, and employee engagement to ensure a positive work environment. 
• Ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills and be capable of working in a collaborative environment. Well-rounded leaders coming from a larger scope OR is strongly preferred. 

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is required; master’s degree is strongly preferred. 
• A minimum of five years of related management experience is required.
