Pacific Northwest Christian College is seeking to fill the following position:

Job Title: Adjunct Instructor in Mathematics

Institution: Pacific Northwest Christian College (PNWCC)

Position Type: Part-time, Adjunct

Description: Pacific Northwest Christian College (PNWCC) is committed to fulfilling its mission of reaching, motivating, and equipping college students for Christ-centered service in the church and community. We are seeking a qualified and passionate individual to join our faculty as an Adjunct Instructor in Mathematics. There are opportunities to teach a variety of courses ranging from Developmental Mathematics and Mathematics for the Liberal Arts to Calculus. As an instructor at PNWCC you will have the opportunity to go beyond teaching the subject matter. You will be able to share your faith with students who do not know Christ and to minister to their needs. You will be expected to help students develop skills and increase in knowledge while guiding them in developing the character traits and life skills necessary for success.

Responsibilities

· Teach Developmental, Liberal Arts or higher mathematics courses, following the curriculum established by the department.

· Engage students through effective instruction, discussions, and hands-on activities to promote learning and critical thinking.

· Assess student learning and provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments.

· Maintain regular communication with students, colleagues, and departmental leadership.

Qualifications

· of a Master's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, the Mathematical Sciences or a closely related field from an accredited institution.

· Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the subject matter.

· Teaching experience at college or High School level preferred but

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Must demonstrate compassion, patience, and sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds, willingness to use non-traditional instructional methods, ability to work with students individually and in small groups, understanding of learning strategies, and experience using technology in instruction.

Compensation

· Compensation will depend on class size, ranging from $550 to $750 per credit hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience. There is a cap of 12 hours per semester.

· No benefits are provided for adjunct positions.
