In pursuit of this mission, we are hiring an Associate Teacher for UPK at Lewton. This individual will help ensure the safety and success of all students in the building.

Instructional Assistants build relationships with students they work with, support teachers in ensuring that students are engaged and supported during lessons, and interact with parents and families.

They are a crucial component of a student's support structure at school.

Minimum Qualifications - Must have one of the following :

• Associate's Degree in early childhood education or related field
• Valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or an existing 120 Training-Hour approval by MDE (or willing to pursue one immediately)
• Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working with Universal Preschool or GSRP students in an urban setting

Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrate passion for working with and empathy of Universal Preschool and GSRP students
• Effectively prioritize tasks as assigned by teachers and school leaders
• Ensure safety of students in classroom and comply with Universal Preschool and GSRP requirements
• Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions
• Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment
• Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission

This role traditionally works a normal 35 hour per week schedule during the school year.
