Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate veterinary assistant to join our team who can showcase their adaptability, a strong work ethic, and high-quality customer service. As a veterinary assistant you will play a crucial role in providing professional care to our animal patients.

Currently we are under renovation and are seeking candidates to train and prepare for the new facility estimated to be completed in late August of 2024.

Your responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgeries, helping technicians perform IV catheters, blood draws, cystocentesis, administering medications, and providing compassionate care to animals and their owners.

Skills Needed includes performing laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis - Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed - Take and develop X-rays - Clean and maintain medical equipment and instruments - Provide post-operative care and monitor patients during recovery - Clean kennels and laundry. Training will be provided.

Animal care: Knowledgeable in providing basic care for animals including feeding, grooming, and exercise - Veterinary terminology: Familiarity with medical terms used in veterinary medicine - Animal husbandry: Understanding of animal behavior, nutrition, and breeding practices - Veterinary critical care: Ability to provide emergency care to critically ill animals - Animal handling: Experienced in safely restraining animals during examinations and procedures -
