POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing Specialist for Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue in Sarasota, Florida will be a key player in shaping and implementing effective marketing strategies. This role involves increasing exposure through public relations and social media, managing events, fostering community engagement, securing sponsorships, and collaborating with stakeholders to support the rescue’s life-saving mission. The Marketing Specialist will report to the Executive Director and will work with other staff, board members and volunteers as part of a team dedicated to driving the success of Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue.

Since 2008, Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue has provided a loving haven for rescued dogs and cats on their way to finding their forever homes. Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue, a 501(c)3 non-profit in Sarasota, Florida, is dedicated to the welfare of animals. With a mission centered on compassion and responsible pet ownership, the organization actively engages the community through adoption, rehabilitation, and educational programs. Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue strives to create a positive impact by providing a safe haven for animals, promoting their well-being, and fostering a caring community committed to their welfare. Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue’s four priorities are to:

1. Prioritize proactive rescue operations and collaboration with local animal control.
2. Conduct community workshops and campaigns to promote responsible pet ownership, dispel shelter pet myths, and raise awareness about adoption benefits.
3. Ensure successful adoptions through thorough processes, matching pets with suitable families, and offering post-adoption support.
4. Implement youth-focused educational programs in collaboration with schools and organizations to instill empathy and responsibility for animals, fostering a lasting impact on animal welfare.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

**This is an in person role. Candidates out of the Sarasota/Bradenton area must be open to relocate**

Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue is looking for an enthusiastic advocate for animals, education and community in Sarasota-Bradenton who has the following skills and experience:

• minimum of five (5) years of related marketing experience with proven success in developing and implementing multi-faceted marketing campaigns with direct positive impact to the organization’s goals. Knowledge of the industry of animal rescue or nonprofit marketing a strong plus.
• Excellent public speaking skills.
• Experienced in managing comprehensive strategic marketing and communications activities, including media relations, print and digital marketing campaigns, social media content creation and management, website management, and overseeing the design and production of print materials.
• Outstanding writing and editing skills.
• Ability to work independently and responsibly while managing numerous projects simultaneously.
• Position requires some nights and weekends as related to special events and activities.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and execute marketing, public relations and communications strategies, including social media, print, digital content and email marketing.
• Develop relationships with existing and prospective sponsors to assist in meeting annual and event-specific fundraising goals.
• Leverage the organization’s digital assets, including website and social media channels, to optimize brand awareness, fundraise and engage various targeted audiences.
• Proactively identify, develop and communicate organizational news, programs, special events, ideas and stories to the media.
• Ensure Nate’s Honor information presented on third party websites is accurate and updated accordingly (Charity Navigator, Guidestar, etc)
• Develop, implement and execute internal and external communications plans and maintain consistent and effective messaging through social media, e-newsletters, website content, and more.
• Work in conjunction with the Executive Director to identify internal and external marketing communication opportunities and develop strategies that support solutions.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of the Nate’s Honor s signage program, including property signs, event banners and digital boards.
• Ensure on-brand production of all promotional materials, marketing and communication.
• Support all Nate’s Honor events through the development and execution of marketing materials, PR and on-site needs to optimize participation and fundraising.
• Represent Nate’s Honor at professional and community events.
• Other duties as assigned.
