Lancaster Bible College | Capital Seminary & Graduate School is Hiring a Second Shift Custodian Near Lancaster, PA
Physical Requirements (Also see Physical Demands at the end of this job description): The physical ability to use the body in primary type skills necessary to perform duties such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Ability to move continuously during work hours and able to lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Cleaning and handling chemicals
- Safely operation of various mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums, polishers/buffers, auto-scrubbers, vehicles, etc.
- The desire to grow, develop, and mature, both spiritually and professionally.
- The ability to create and maintain a Christian professional atmosphere in all internal and external relationships.
- A spirit of cooperation and willingness to serve as a member of a team.
- A professional appearance.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years janitorial experience preferably in an educational setting.
- Valid drivers license required with acceptable driving record.
- 2nd or 3rd shift schedule required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office systems such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Multitask, organizational skills and detail-oriented.
- Self-starter with follow-through skills.
- Think logically, clearly, and productively.
- Ability to work independently.
- Organized and detailed in professional and personal presentation.
- Writing reports of actions taken and recommendations for Manager.
- Work effectively with college personnel, students, outside groups, and volunteers in association with the College in an effective, objective, and fully communicative manner.
- Ability to follow and adhere to pre-arranged schedule of work tasks.
- Plan work schedule for major tasks.
- Perform regular quality checks on facility cleanliness.
- Provide support for special functions and events.
- Clean and maintain assigned building, including but not limited to bathrooms, classrooms, department suites, lobbies, etc.
- Must handle various cleaning solvents, chemicals, etc.
- Clean, sanitize, and restock bathrooms and other areas after receiving Bloodborne pathogen training.
- Wash/clean windows, glass and stainless surfaces.
- Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, door trim, baseboard and whiteboards.
- Responsible for disposal of trash, recycling, and other disposable materials.
- Sweep, mop and scrub floors, stairs and other surfaces.
- Use and maintain vacuums, auto scrubbers, carpet extractors, and other equipment.
- Use safety precautions in all housekeeping services.
- Report needed repairs to supervisor using online work request system.
- Shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
