Cooper Marine - Louisiana is Hiring a Purchasing Agent Near Laplace, LA

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

· Analyze, benchmark, track, and trend procurement metrics to determine the impact on the firm’s safety and financial performance.

· Attend company meetings, tradeshows, and conferences for company networking and industry trend purposes.

· Comply with organization procurement policies and procedures, as well as all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

· Evaluate and select suppliers, vendors, goods and services on the basis of price, quality, and speed of delivery.

· Form and maintain strategic relationships with vendors and suppliers.

· Maintain and review procurement related records and documents.

· Maintain a working technical knowledge of the goods and services utilized by Cooper Marine and industry.

· Negotiate prices with suppliers and vendors.

· Review and fulfil requisition and supply orders.

· Study market conditions and determine impact on supply chains.

Key Requirements:

· Marine industry experience and/or a Bachelor’s degree comparable.

· Effective oral and written communication skills, including public presentation ability.

· Have valid TWIC and Driver’s License or ability to obtain these items.

· Participate in on-call rotation.

· Proven ability to work effectively and enthusiastically on a team.

· Strong digital literacy including Microsoft office and the ability to quickly learn and utilize other operating systems.

· Travel will be required, sometimes reactionary on short notice.

· The position requires the ability to work in a variety of environments: varying indoor and outdoor environments to include heat and cold.

· The position requires the ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods as well as climb stairs and may occasionally require lifting items 50lbs or more.
