State of Missouri is Hiring a Construction Worker - 7030103 Near Lebanon, MO

Salary: $1,664.00 semi-monthly

Job Location: This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks, and will be located at Bennett Spring State Park, 26250 Hwy 64A Lebanon, MO 65536. The shift is normally Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a half hour lunch break. Some night and weekend work may be required for special events, emergencies, holidays, and rotating weekend coverage for the facility.

This position makes repairs and improvements to Bennett Spring State Park facilities and ensures that we continue to serve our visitors for years to come. This is a dynamic position with considerable variety in what you do day to day, letting you show off your broad range of skills and abilities.

What you’ll do:

  • Complete skilled work assignments in multiple building trades: painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, roofing, drywall, heating and cooling and all phases of concrete work
  • Perform material estimating and make material purchases, as needed
  • Perform manual work requiring heavy lifting, reaching and bending.
  • May also assist or oversee a crew engaged in maintenance tasks.
  • May assist with stewardship activities including but not limited to prescribed fire, trail work, and invasive species removal.
  • Operate equipment such as mowers, tractors, skid steers, and backhoe’s
  • Assist with grounds keeping and custodial duties within the facility

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four to six years of on-the-job training in building, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical trades.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and complete assignments received orally or by written orders from sketches, penciled layouts, or blueprints
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand/power tools
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work independently
  • Skill and ability to operate tractors, mowers, skid steer, and other grounds related equipment.
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical manual.
  • Ability to operate a vehicle and maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license.
  • Available to work occasional nights, weekends, holidays, evenings, and split shifts.
  • Available to participate in meetings, workshops and seminars requiring overnight stays
  • Must be able to walk long distances on uneven terrain in all kinds of weather and environmental conditions and have the ability to lift 25 pounds.
  • Please note, this position may be required to obtain and maintain a commercial operator’s license (CDL), and/or a water/wastewater certification. If required, you will be given six months to obtain the license/certification.
  • HVAC certified technician
