Provides services on a weekly basis to Educational Talent Search (ETS) participants at assigned target schools. Services include: facilitating career and college exploration, learning style assessments, middle to high school transition and engaging participants with technology-based guidance services. Informs and assists participants with post-secondary admissions and financial aid applications. Assists participants with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (F AFSA), verification forms, scholarship applications and other institutional financial aid forms. Plans and conducts financial aid nights at assigned target schools. Assists with the recruitment, selection, orientation, and needs assessment of new project participants. Documents provision of services to participants and tracks academic progress toward high school completion and college enrollment. Maintains confidentiality of records and provides referrals as needed. Establishes appropriate liaisons with local schools, community and governmental agencies, and units/departments within the college.

This position is located on the Airport Campus in the Educational Talent Search department.Master's degree; or bachelor's degree and two (2) years' experience in student service programs.Master's degree in Student Personnel Services, Counseling, Education, or a related field; or bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional experience, preferably working with low income, potential first-generation college students. Must have the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with students, parents and counselors. Prefer previous work experience in a TRIO program, or knowledge of the purpose of TRIO programs and demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of educationally and economically disadvantaged youth. Regular travel, evening work, weekend work and some overnight travel may be required.
