Arkansas Attorney General is Hiring an Assistant Attorney General Near Little Rock, AR

The Office of Attorney General Tim Griffin is seeking to hire an experienced attorney to serve as an Assistant Attorney General in the Special Prosecutions Division.

The Assistant Attorney General will work under the direct supervision of the Deputy Attorney General over the Special Prosecutions Division (SPD). This is a fast-paced position that involves coordinating with other highly-skilled individuals in the Office of the Attorney General to generate solutions to issues that arise in the criminal justice field. Attorneys work side by side with Special Agents in the Special Investigations Division (SID). SID is responsible for investigating cybercrimes, human trafficking, organized retail crime, election fraud, and public integrity. Both SPD and SID often work hand in hand with local, state, and federal partners in operations, training, and investigations. Special Prosecutions Attorneys assist with reviewing search warrants and issuing subpoenas and other legal process related to ongoing investigations. Additionally, our attorneys litigate cases originating from our office as Special Prosecuting Attorneys. Our attorneys also coordinate with local prosecutors around the State to assist in local prosecutions when requested as a special prosecuting attorney.

Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Arkansas and should demonstrate outstanding abilities in legal research, writing, and trial advocacy. They should have a history of producing work that is thorough, accurate, and timely; and show a commitment to being a lifelong learner who is always growing in knowledge, communication skills, and interpersonal abilities. More than two years prosecutorial experience is required.

The attorney hired for this position is responsible for advising the Special Investigations Division Special Agents in legal matters. They will assist or serve as Special Deputy Prosecuting Attorney throughout the State. They will research cases and statutes related to investigations or prosecutions.

This position requires daily in-office presence and the ability to travel in and out of state with overnight stays occasionally. The applicant must be self-motivated to work collaboratively in a professional environment, exercise sound judgment, and communicate effectively.
