Job Overview :
The Monitor Technician is responsible for on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides Rns and / or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in the cardiac rhythms.
The technician delivers telemetry to inpatient units and performs monitor connections and discharges, patient preparation, and teaching related to the monitor.

Telemetry and / or successful completion of a cardiac dysrhythmia course
Scheduling Requirements :
Essential Functions :
Develops a rapport and cooperative relationship with nursing and clinical staff and responds to questions / requests from healthcare providers
Performs clerical duties related to admission, discharge, and documentation of patient information from Central Telemetry Answers telephone / vocera and communicates clearly when receiving information from units or providers.
Uses clear and complete communication with unit personnel when delivering information about changes in patient rhythm
Orients and mentors new staff members. Serves as a resource for training and troubleshooting to both Central Telemetry and clinical areas.
Demonstrates flexibility in response to unexpected changes in work volume, emergencies, staffing and schedule changes
Maintains and stocks all designated equipment, including telemetry, and transport monitors. Notifies Clinical Director of missing and broken transmitters and malfunctioning cardiac monitors.
Replaces defective equipment and reports failures to Biomed
