CorTech is Hiring a Quality Technician Near Long Island, NY

CorTech International is currently seeking a Quality Technician to join our team in Long Island City, NY1 1101. The primary responsibility of the Quality Technician is to test and inspect products at various stages of the production process for conformance to specifications.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
o Use gauges and other devices to verify conformity of product to specifications, and segregate non-conforming parts.
o Document result/progress of work on paper forms (such as inspection, process, calibration records, time sheets etc...) and on a computer.
o Suggest or recommend changes regarding special requirements.
o Assist in implementing a total quality management program and/or train others on total quality management.
o Provide ongoing feedback to engineering, quality, and manufacturing departments about ongoing quality issues.

Skills and Knowledge:
o Ability to read, understand, and apply a variety of office or plant procedures.
o Knowledgeable in the use of various measuring devices such as gauges, rulers, calipers, micrometers, precision scales, magnifiers, and electrical meters.
o Knowledge of computerized vision measurement systems is a plus.
o Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, schematics, diagrams, and associated tolerances.
o Knowledge and ability to use PC, operate office and basic plant equipment (compressed air supply, higher voltage electrical supply, safety basics, lockout tag-out procedures).
o Knowledge of using Windows Operating System, MS. Office, Internet Browsers, and Email.
o Familiarity with ESD safe handling/control practices is a plus.
o Good in-person, verbal, written, and email communication skills.
o Good vision (includes color perception) and ability to work with small components.
o Neat, legible, and comprehensive record keeping.

Education / Experience:
o High school diploma or GED preferred.
o 1 - 3 years of quality control/inspection experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
o Ability to use a computer, office automation tools, and plant equipment.
Working Hours:
o 8:00 am-5:00 pm
Pay:
o $18/hr
