ODS offers state of the art publishing solutions through high-speed digital printing (color and black & white), automated composition, offset printing, warehousing and fulfillment services.

Who You Are

We seek a Machine Operator for our '3-day Shift'; Saturday, Sunday, Monday from 10am - 10:30pm, OT (No flexibility on shift days or hours). Our machine operators provide preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of our printing and inserting machines. Previous inserting, digital print, or pneumatic/hydraulic machine operation is a huge plus.

• 10:00 AM to 10 PM; Saturday, Sunday, Monday OT

Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up inserting equipment at the beginning of each job according to the specifications provided on the job ticket
• Insert address tags into mail sacks, or mail trays used for bulk mailing of ID cards, kits, and catalogs
• Maintain equipment, troubleshoot problems, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment as needed
• Keep work area in order and follow prescribed safety regulations
• Able to read postal statements and sort mail accordingly
• Make adjustments as required to return output to the proper specifications
• Direct and supervise the work of helpers on the machine
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department manager
• Communicates status of jobs to department manager
• Follow standard operating procedures according to the department’s guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

• A minimum of two years' experience in a printing or mail inserting environment, or operating large pneumatic and hydraulic machinery
• High school graduate, or completion of GED preferred
• Perform all work and activities with honesty and integrity
• Take personal responsibility for productivity, quality and timeliness of work
• Effectively communicate (and listen) clearly, professionally, politely and persuasively in all situations; respond well and in a reasonable, timely manner
• Challenge conventional practices and use creativity and information to lead, innovate, problem solve, and implement ideas to contribute to the growth of the organization
