UNHITCHED BREWING COMPANY JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: FOH Manager

REPORTS TO: Managing Partners

FLSA: Exempt

Position Summary Front-end management that oversees all service-related activities in accordance with standardized policies in order to provide efficient, friendly services and profitable operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

· To maintain a weekly schedule of Wednesday-Sunday to manage during all operational hours, opening & closing, unless otherwise approved by Managing Partner/Operations Manager.

· Assists Operations Manager with staffing responsibilities for servers, hosts, food runners, bartenders, barbacks, etc. This includes helping with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and terminating, with Operations Manager support.

· Oversee, manage and maintain schedules for all FOH

· Along with Operations Manager, implement training programs and oversee training for all new servers, hosts, food runners, bartenders & barbacks

· During service hours being the additional set of hands to help everywhere in support of the Front of House Team – seating, greeting, running food, running drinks, clear/resetting tables, etc.

· Cultivates guest relationships by getting to know UnHitched Brewing Company’srepeat guests, as well as by developing new relationships with guests who have not previously patronized UnHitched Brewing Company’s.

· Intercepts all special requests, i.e., investor requests, high profile requests, etc. and works closely with events department regarding the accommodation of on-site events.

· Works closely with BOH management to achieve seamless communication between the departments.

· With Operations Manager support, implement and enforce policy and procedure to ensure that all verbiage amongst FOH employees is uniform with guest communication.

· Promotes cooperative effort, a team spirit, and good morale among employees.

· Delivers excellent guest service including personally greeting and seating guests.

· Work on revising website, manuals, service, sidework, gift certificate procedures, etc with Operations Manager as necessary.

· Work closely with Managing Partner for continued social media presence and marketing opportunities.

· Assist in implementing and maximizing Toast and Resy’s options for the overall benefit of the restaurant and guest accommodation.

· Resolves complaints from guests in a polite, friendly manner always making sure we follow up with them when needed. Also ensuring that Operations Manager knows of these situations when not around.

· Performs daily inspections and periodic audits to check safety of equipment. Addresses engineering problems with Managing Partner involving the cost, installation, and maintenance of such equipment.

· Supervises staff in terms of guest service, cleaning and repairs to restaurant and grounds.

· Make sure the entire space looks, smells, and feels good (lighting, temperature, bathrooms, cleanliness, and seating arrangements).

· Conduct monthly inventory for all FOH-related product.

· Participates in training about standardized policies (fire, hygiene, health, safety, employee handbook, etc.).

· Assists with maintaining records of sales and cash receipts including related areas of accounting, budgeting, credit policies and banking methods.

· Responds to guest and community interests to develop marketing and advertising.

· Has a strong understanding of company background and the philosophy.

· To be familiar with all food and beverage items on UnHitched Brewing Company’s menus

· Responsible for checking out service staff, collecting all necessary payments and closing the restaurant according to UnHitched Brewing Company’s standards.

· May be required to work an addition day during times of conventions, festivals, etc., given the business demands of UnHitched Brewing Company.

· Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

· High school diploma, GED certificate, or demonstration of sufficient reading and math skills to read manuals and prepare computer reports as required; hospitality and restaurant management certification or college degree preferred.

· Previous restaurant experience required.

· Previous management experience preferred.

· Willingness to work mornings, evenings and weekends as required.

· Excellent guest service to treat patrons like family.

· Strong communication skills to train and motivate employees.

· Strong time management skills and accuracy to deal with a variety of duties and prepare reports according to schedule.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The work that restaurant managers do is both physically and mentally demanding. They are on their feet much of the time. Managers must work well under pressure and exercise tact and patience when dealing with employees and customers. Restaurant managers typically work fifty to fifty-five hours a week. However, because the restaurant serves the public and has the flexibility to open up to 7 days/week for private events, managers may work longer, irregular hours.

The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds or more. Specific sensory abilities required by this job include sight, taste, smell, and hearing.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to raw meat, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, hazardous materials, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
