Material Handler Job Description:
As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials within the Aerospace and Defense custom manufacturing division, supporting our operations and supply chain management. Our Material Handlers are primarily responsible for overall inventory management including receiving, kitting, cycle counting.
Essential functions include:
- Responsible for receiving material into parts database with a high degree of accuracy. Address all internal customer requests with professionalism and responsiveness.
- Work directly with appropriate team members to resolve receiving discrepancies.
- According to production schedules, proactively prepare kits with accuracy and completeness
- Aware of critical part shortages.
- Inspect incoming material for any physical damage.
- Perform recycling and trash removal of all packaging and properly label material.
- Put material away in respective location, deliver material to production labs as necessary
Responsibilities
- Thoroughly investigate inventory count discrepancies to determine root cause and prevent reoccurrences.
- Interact cross functionally with multiple departments including production, coordination, project management, procurement, and receiving.
- Identify, document & label totes/kits, boxes-containers, and components.
- Verify, count, document and recommend disposition of excess project materials.
- Ensure a safe, clean and well-organized work environment.
- Cross train and work in other divisions/departments as needed
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; some experience in manufacturing or a manufacturing environment preferred.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
