DEVELOPMENT/FUNDRAISING MANAGER
OVERVIEW:
Reports to the Executive Director.
Supports the philanthropic strategy of SMA/OCC.
Works with the Executive Director and Development Committee of the Board to achieve the
organization’s development and fundraising goals.
Represents Old City Cemetery professionally and enthusiastically.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develops an annual development and fundraising plan that includes at a minimum:
o Ambitious but attainable fund-raising goals with clearly identified steps for achieving the
goals.
o A list of potential grant opportunities matched to known and anticipated needs.
o Identification of ways to expand the corporate donor base.
o Identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of current and future donors.
o Letters and brochures that appeal to prospective donors.
o Special Events to be held.
Manages SMA/OCC’s development and fundraising plan to include:
o Assurance of strong and sustainable relationships with donors, volunteers, staff, and
Board of Directors.
o Clear procedures to follow for carrying out special events.
o Compliance with existing grants.
o Strengthening corporate donor relationships.
o Strengthening individual donor relationships.
o Prompt donor acknowledgments.
Supports, as needed, the work of the Executive Director and the SMA Development Committee.
Ensures the integrity of the donor database and third-party donor platforms.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
3-5 years of experience and demonstrated success in fundraising and development.
Demonstrated success in setting and achieving aggressive fundraising goals.
Demonstrated success in cultivating multiple revenue sources – individuals, corporations,
foundations, special events, etc.
Strong creative writing skills.
Strong project management skills and experience in leading complex, multifaceted
initiatives/events.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google applications, and various fundraising database
platforms.

COMPENSATION:
This part-time position (20 hours per week) offers a salary of $20K-$30K per year depending on
experience.
