Teksouth is seeking a .NET Developer to develop and enhance government software capabilities. This is a remote position, requiring occasional in-office work. The right candidate will live in one of the following geographic locations: Huntsville, AL; Birmingham, AL; Atlanta, GA; Macon, GA; and Warner Robins, GA.

You will work with the IT staff to provide application development, deployment, maintenance, and technology support for the customer.

You will provide Software Engineering for the analysis/evaluation of new/revised enhancements/features for AFRC to modernize its FM applications to be web-based, centralized, and security audit compliant.

The .NET Developer position requires a meticulous initiative-taker with the ability to follow clear instructions and an interest in software development, new technologies, and agile development.

Responsibilities

• Review, modernize, and maintain existing systems.
• Generate ideas for system improvements.
• Create detailed technical design documentation and level of effort estimates.
• Develop and test new and existing systems
• Create developer documentation.
• Work closely with Database Developers, Business Analysts, Project Managers, Quality Assurance teams, and Documentation teams.
• Analyze/evaluate and document existing applications design, implementation, and software/database technologies
• Identify software and database design changes requested or necessary to make those applications meet enhancements, security, and audit compliance
• Analyze/evaluate incoming requirements for design, implementation, testing, and documentation impacts
• Provide analysis and labor estimates for new/revised software requirements
• Work in SCRUM meetings for product backlog refinement
• Document/comment on all code modules in sufficient detail to allow subsequent coders to understand the author, the purpose, and any unique structures/standards utilized
• Develop capabilities under a continuous development/continuous delivery philosophy
• Assist in the development of documented test plans, procedures
• Participate in the planning of rollback strategies to address defects/issues that cannot be resolved promptly
• Ability to support after-hours or weekend software upgrades and deployments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager. Additional tasks include evaluating new software development technologies. May also work on other projects, such as web database maintenance and cloud initiatives, as needed.

Qualifications

• Must possess an active DOD Secret Security Clearance.
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Security certification is a plus. Obtaining one will be a requirement.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in software development, with a strong emphasis on C# and .NET Core.
• At least 3 years of direct, firsthand experience with SQL and MS SQL Server. Note: Experience with entity framework alone does not fulfill this requirement.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with JavaScript and front-end frameworks, with a preference for React (VueJS also acceptable).
• Experience in developing web applications -- client and server-side (“full stack”)
• Solid understanding of ASP.NET core concepts, including services, dependency injection, and middleware.
• Familiarity with rewriting applications originally in C# or VB.NET is beneficial, as the role involves working with and modernizing legacy software for both on-premises and cloud implementations.
• A good understanding of web application security principles, including awareness of common attack vectors and defensive programming techniques.
• Experience developing Microsoft Power Platformapplications is a plus.
• Experience using Microsoft DevOps applications is a plus.
