NeuWave Medical , founded by physicians and scientists, created the first intelligent ablation system and the only system that has it all. The versatile probe portfolio with multi-probe synchronized energy delivery allows physicians to tailor ablations. The unique computer-controlled system now includes NEUWAVE ABLATE-IQ software, offering the only integrated in-procedure confirmation to evaluate the technical success of the procedure.
As part of the NeuWave Research and Development team, this role will be involved in maintaining product needs for currently released NEUWAVE Microwave Ablation Systems. Responsibilities include product improvements, part obsolescence, and testing.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply knowledge of general engineering principles, material/component selection, DFMEA and reliability to develop and achieve product design requirements
  • Contribute to investigation and experimentation efforts aimed at practical applications of scientific theories or principles
  • Provide innovative platform, product, system, sub-system and component design solutions
  • Perform detailed design analysis and provide feedback or approval for detailed design specifications
  • Establish and implement appropriate statistical product testing strategies to ensure adequate safety factors or margins
Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical or other Engineering field
  • 1-2 years of product development experience in medical products or device industry working in a team-based environment is desired
  • Effective oral, written, and presentation communications
  • Technical writing: requirements, protocols, testing results, procedures, status and special reports
  • Ability to think and act strategically, considering short and long-term impact.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical engineering principles including DOE (Design of Experiments) and DFMEA (design failure mode effect analysis) principles.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems, sub-systems and components.
  • Understanding of electrical engineering principals
  • Solidworks or equivalent CAD
Physical Working Conditions/Requirements
  • Office/computer work environment
  • Laboratory work environment (including testing of animal tissue)
  • Ability to lift and carry a weight of up 50 pounds for a short period of time
This job posting is anticipated to close on 8/16/2024. The Company may however extend this time-period, in which case the posting will remain available on to accept additional applications.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
  • Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.
  • Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
  • This position is eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive program.
  • Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
    • Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year
    • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year
    • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
