Marblehead Public Schools are seeking highly qualified applicants for full-time special education teachers of students with moderate disabilities in both inclusion and resource room settings. Teachers will be expected to support students across content areas, with the support of other special education service providers, school adjustment counselors, general education teachers, and other support staff. The ideal candidate is flexible, responsible and organized, and has experience working with students with a wide range of learning needs, especially students with emotional or behavioral needs. We are looking for a team player, who is compassionate and supportive of students. This is a Unit A Teacher position; compensation in accordance with collectively bargained agreement.Position Responsibilities:Develop and implement lessons with appropriate elements of differentiation and universal design for learningDevelop and implement class-wide positive behavioral supportsProvide specialized reading instruction with a systematic, evidence-based, multi-sensory programProvide instruction in inclusion or sub-separate settings that incorporate evidence-based instruction with access to general education curriculumWork closely and collaboratively with related service providers, program consultants and general education teachers in order to provide students with a comprehensive educational program, including appropriate maintenance of student recordsEnsure the rights of students with disabilities to be full participants in the general curriculumAssess curriculum and instruction for cultural biasesWrite and implement IEPs, including completion of appropriate evaluationsSupervise and support educational support professionals as they implement instructional methodologiesImplement standardized evaluation toolsCollect and maintain data on student academic and social growthComplete other duties as assigned by building or district administrators
