What You'll Be Doing

The Operator, Amplas contributes to our mission of saving and sustaining lives by cleaning, supplying, operating and unloading an Amplas machine that produces plastic pouches.

  • Load roll stock of plastic sheeting into the Amplas machine with assistance by a hoist if necessary.
  • Perform hoist inspections.
  • Clean and sanitize the Amplas machine and each mobile closet.
  • Splice full roll stock with emptied roll stock of plastic sheeting to ensure a sufficient supply for the continuous operation of the Amplas machine.
  • Manage the machine to meet scrap requirements, appropriately document scrap and achieve production requirements.
  • Make minor adjustments and replace wearable components of the Amplas machine as necessary.
  • Collect the completed plastic pouches and neatly stack them into mobile closets.
  • Periodically conduct and document quality checks on the dimensions and seals of the pouches.
  • Complete required POMS or manual paperwork documentation.
  • Navigate the computerized Production Operating Management System (POMS) to access, manage and document batch information throughout the production process.
  • Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur.
  • Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles.
  • Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

What You'll Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED and must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have the Level 5 / 6 certification.
  • One year of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • CRC (Career Readiness Certification) Silver level preferred.
  • Basic Mechanical Aptitude preferred.
  • Basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members.
  • Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawings.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Understanding of the Amplas, Pouching and Sterilization processes preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires frequent grasping, pushing / pulling and reaching with hands and arms. The position also involves lifting up to 40 pounds frequently throughout the shift.
  • Normal visual acuity is necessary.
  • Must be able to bend / stoop, squat, climb, reach above shoulder level, reach at or below shoulder level, kneel, twist and bend at the neck, twist and bend at the waist and balance.

To that end, this position has a pay rate of $19.95 an hour.
