As an Electrician Apprentice at our Edgar (McIntyre), GA site, you will make an impact on the world with a fundamental focus on sustainability, being a part of a team which processes kaolin for our sister plants in Savannah and Attapulgus.

As your apprenticeship begins, you…
Will enroll in and attend an Industrial Systems Technology AAS while working and learning on site in our Edgar (McIntyre), GA site from some of the best in the business. During your time here we don’t want you to sweat the small stuff so BASF will cover the entire cost of your educational program, including books! 

During your shift as a Electrician Apprentice, you will

• Repair and maintain the Instrument and Electrical equipment encompassing the plant switch-gear installations, electrical and pneumatic system, PLC controllers, and AC and DC drive controls.
• Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints and computer logic to trouble shoot production problems.
• Perform process control, sensing and monitoring system calibrations and record keeping. Supporting, maintaining, and improving the plant MPI programs to maintain equipment reliability.
• Preform electrical PM’s, maintain records and continuity checks.
• Operate mobile equipment.
• Ensure all electrical/mechanical equipment is compliant with MSHA standards. 
• Ensure electrical safety PPE is inspected and in compliance with NFPA-70E.
• Maintain and set up of instrument devices: Pressure, level, flow, temperature.

If you...

• Have a HS Diploma or GED.
• Can work in a plant environment and lift 50lbs.
• Are able to work supporting production operations during the second and third shift as well as weekend/holidays coverage.
• Can work a rotating on call schedule with other Electricians every 3 weeks (after apprenticeship).
• Have the willingness to enroll in, attend, and maintain a 2.0 GPA in each course in the Industrial Systems Technology AAS degree program.
