Description
The successful candidate will To inspect facility and perform tasks for the purpose of preventive maintenance of all facility building components.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
· Ability to read and work from scaled drawings
· Knowledge of basic construction and routine maintenance and repair procedures
· Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written)
· Ability to operate hand and power tools
· Ability to operate mechanical/electrical diagnostic equipment
· Ability to work independently
· Maintain emotional control under stress
· Survey large or questionable job with Maintenance Supervisor.
· Survey safety devices and equipment on a regular basis. Keep equipment, tools, shop/work areas in clean/safe condition.
· Observe and practice all safety rules and requirements pertaining to hazardous chemicals, asbestos containing materials (ACM), and environmental hazards.
· Comply with directions and instructions from supervisor and perform other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned.
· Comply with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Two years verifiable on-the-job experience in construction or maintenance field without direct supervision
Must have experience performing tasks associated with the following trades: plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry.
Education & Experience Requirements:
High School diploma or GED.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
The employee must possess excellent skills.

· May be required to train and assist other employees.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Must possess good physical dexterity and have the ability to perform manual tasks and body movements including climbing, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, walking, standing, and carrying. Ability to lift 50 pounds of weight. Work outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; work on ladders, scaffolds, platforms.
