JOB SUMMARY:
The Technology Support Associate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of all computer workstations and associated software. They will be responsible for providing computer training to new hires and assisting staff in computer-based testing. They will also be responsible for installation and maintenance of the VOIP and cell phones. The Technology Support Associate will also be the main point of contact for employees who are experiencing computer issues.
GENERAL:
Technology Support Associate is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of desktop computers, laptop computers, tablets, desktop phones, cell phones, printers, and other computer/network related devices.Works in close communication with the IT Director. Position requires excellent communication and customer service skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Perform IT Training to new hires, assist with technology questions.
· Assist staff with proctored computer testing, requires updating applications and meeting environmental testing requirements.
· Assist personnel with installation, configuration and ongoing usability of system hardware and software.
· Offer daily operations and systems support to personnel
· Verify functionality of hardware and software components
· Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely and via phone
· Assist employees with computer problems and answer their questions
· Maintain up to date inventory of VOIP phones, cell phones, computer systems, printers, and other computer/network related devices
· Maintain up to date department procedures
· Coordinates work with external vendors
· Provides Tier 1 support for network issues, login issues for various applications, firewall and Wi-Fi issues
Experience and Skills Requirements:
· 3 years’ experience in computer networks and systems maintenance
· 2 years’ experience on current network operating systems
· Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations
· Understanding of IT principles and an ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience
· Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality required
· Valid Driver’s License and auto insurance
· Dependable car
· Knowledgeable in all aspects of how a computer operates
· Experience using antivirus software and tools to eliminate viruses, spyware, and other malware
· Ability to differentiate between good and bad files
· Awareness of RAM and hard-drive space requirements
· Ability to install and upgrade operating system and software applications
· Technicians must be able to build and take apart a computer with ease, understanding how each part fits together, such as graphics cards and motherboard slots
· Experience with Office / Office365 / Azure Global Administration
· Experience with endpoint management, security, and remote control
· Experience with help desk ticketing system
· Excellent communication and customer service skills
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
· Comp TIA A Certification (preferred)
Background/ Drug Screen: Clear background check; ability to pass a drug screen
References: 3 professional references required to verify experience
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position requires the ability up to lift 50 pounds and requires the ability to carry up to 35 pounds up and down stairways. Regular local travel, up to 150 miles round trip, to various job sites is necessary.
