Position Overview:

As a pivotal member of our team, your role will encompass a broad spectrum of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the seamless operation and efficiency of our dental practices. Key duties and expectations include:

  • Prepare Operatory for Patient Visit:
  • Ensure the operatory is appropriately set up and equipped for the upcoming patient visit.
  • Patient Escort and Demographic Verification:
  • Escort patients to the operatory and verify demographic information to ensure accurate records.
  • Chairside Patient Introduction:
  • Seat patients comfortably in the chair and provide a clear explanation of the procedures to be performed.
  • Digital Health History Recording:
  • Collect, confirm, and accurately record patient health history in the digital charting system.
  • Protective Draping and Instrument Tray Setup:
  • Drape the patient with a protective napkin and meticulously arrange the instrument tray with necessary supplies.
  • Digital Radiography:
  • Utilize digital technology to capture radiographs as part of the diagnostic process.
  • Preparation of Dental Materials:
  • Prepare dental materials, including cements, amalgams, composites, and impression materials, as required for the visit.
  • Impressions and Space Maintainers:
  • Perform impressions and insert space maintainers as part of patient treatment.
  • Restorative Procedures:
  • Execute placement, finishing, and polishing of amalgam and composite restorations. Apply dental sealants when necessary.
  • Coronal Polishing and Matrix Bands:
  • Conduct coronal polishing and proficiently place matrix bands and wedges. Install primary crowns as required.
  • Chairside Assistance and Emergency Management:
  • Assist the dentist during procedures and manage dental emergencies effectively.
  • Dental Charting and Postoperative Instructions:
  • Assist the dentist in dental charting and provide postoperative instructions as prescribed.
  • Patient Review and Follow-Up Appointments:
  • Review the visit with parents after treatment, provide postoperative instructions, and guide them to the front desk for follow-up appointments.
  • Infection Control and Operatory Preparation:
  • Adhere to stringent infection control protocols and prepare the operatory for the next patient.
  • Operatory Maintenance:
  • Routinely clean, disinfect, and restock operatories to maintain a high standard of hygiene and readiness.
  • Materials Management:
  • Unbox materials and verify orders to ensure the availability of necessary supplies for patient care.

Position Requirements:

To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Current Licensure and Certification:
  • Hold a valid EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Assistant) license in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Possess certification in radiology.
  • Educational Qualifications:
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Personality Traits:
  • Demonstrate an outgoing and engaging personality conducive to fostering positive relationships with both patients and team members.
  • Flexibility and Travel:
  • Display a willingness to travel to our West Chester location once a month for departmental trainings.
  • Commit to participating in company-wide training sessions on a monthly basis.
  • Reading and Discussion:
  • Exhibit openness to reading and discussing a book issued by the group.
  • Training Commitment:
  • Demonstrate a commitment to completing the initial 2 weeks to 90 days of training at our West Chester facility.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Possess proficiency in Google Drive and spreadsheet applications.
