Estate Planning and Administration ParalegalEckell Sparks is seeking a Full-Time professional Estate Planning and Estate Administration Paralegal to assist at a medium size, extremely busy law firm located in Media, PA. The ideal candidate will exhibit the following skills and have confidence in performing the outlined general job duties.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
· Sitting in on initial estate administration meetings, taking notes regarding fees, assets, prepayment, etc.
· Gathering information from clients, vendors and institutions regarding estate assets, probate v. non-probate, and preparing required probate forms
· Scheduling probate appointments and general client appointments
· Creating and organizing files
· Calendaring and monitoring important dates and deadlines
· Preparing Date of Death balance letters, beneficiary notices, and certification of same, advertising, DHS requests, stock transfers, and opening estate bank accounts
· Detailed knowledge of check writing, check registers and checkbook balancing
PREFERRED SKILLS:
· Knowledge of both Zane and Lackner (REV 1500, Accounting, Inventory); ProSeries (1040 and 1041); EstateVal (EVP); and Savings Bond Wizard preferred
· Notary or willingness to become a Notary
· Multitasking on numerous files for a busy law firm, including attention to detail, organization skills and ability to prioritize tasks/time management
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Works well independently and can handle an estate plan and administration from start to finish
· Comfortable with problem solving and individual research
· Able to assist multiple attorneys at one time
