Responsibilities

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Mainspring Energy, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between design and production. Your responsibilities include collaborating with design engineers, leading CAPEX and value engineering analysis, and developing efficient manufacturing and assembly processes for cutting-edge products. You will champion prototyping efforts, ensuring seamless transitions to production lines with a focus on work instruction maturity and error-proof tools.

As a Senior to Staff Manufacturing Engineer, you will:

  • Contribute to new product development and collaborate with design engineers, offering expertise in manufacturability (DFM/DFX) and cost effectiveness of new mechanical components designs. .
  • Utilize DOE, PFMEA, 8D and other industry-standard tools and techniques to actively identify and address risks and optimize process parameters
  • Contribute to process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives. Balance production lines to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Support prototyping efforts for proof of concept and generate comprehensive manufacturing documentation checklists and improvement plans.
  • Layout planning for future factory design initiatives and collect and document product and process requirements to feed equipment and tooling design and also define the process readiness for automation introduction.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and other engineering teams in developing the manufacturing and test processes , including process flows, equipment/fixture concept designs, implementation schedules and validation plans.
  • Assess the sustainability of a fabrication technology for a given part design, plan validation experiments to demonstrate initial feasibility as well as manufacturing capabilities. Analyze the result and provide technical recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS Manufacturing Engineering,Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent
  • 6 years of experience in manufacturing Engineering
  • Direct hands-on experience going through at least 1 complete cycle from new product introduction to manufacturing process set-up, starting and optimizing production
  • Deep understanding of assembly process planning for electro-mechanical system, stack up tolerance analysis, Failure mode Analysis, 8D and root cause analysis.
  • Proficient using Solidworks as main 2D/3D CAD design tool to generate assembly and individual part models
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Well organized with meticulous attention to details
  • Willing and able to travel internationally up to 15%

The Bay Area salary for this role is $125k-$160kbase pre-IPO stock options benefits. This position can be hybrid. The salary will be adjusted to reflect local market conditions based on employee location as well as the experience of the employee.
