Payroll and Benefits Specialist
Full Time, Monday – Friday, 9am-5:30pm
Compensation: $60,000-$70,000

Responsibilities:
Work closely with HR, Accounting and HRIS.
Process payroll biweekly.
Process wage garnishments.
Support department with new state payroll tax setup.
Track and validate employee vacation and personal time.
Run and analyze various reports in Excel.
Assist with year-end preparation, such as W2 and 1095-C forms, as well as various compliance reporting.
Conduct regular audits of payroll documents.
Process Canadian payroll on an as needed basis.
Responsible for the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, voluntary short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan.
Verifies and processes qualifying event changes as well as COBRA administration.
Monthly reconciling of group insurance invoices
Provide support during annual Open Enrollment
Resolve password resets and answer employee inquiries regarding time off requests utilizing the HRIS.
Support Accounting with required reporting.
Support the team in any other administrative duties related to payroll, benefits, and human resources.
Qualifications/Experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience as payroll specialist.
Bachelors in business administration, human resources, or relevant field
Good understanding of year-end reporting.
Basic knowledge and experience with benefit administration.
Strong multi-state payroll processing experience is a requirement. (CT, CA, NY)
Experience with HRIS (Ceridian Dayforce is preferred, but not required)
Experience with wage attachments and garnishments.
Understanding of data recording and analysis.
Invoice reconciliation.
Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
