JOB SPECIFICATION - General Manager

X-Golf Methuen is the region's coolest indoor golf facility and sports bar and we're looking for a General Manager to join our team to support our growth at our current and future locations! This isn't just another golf simulator place, we're a destination for friends, fun, golf and great drinks! Our huge bar has become a favorite of locals who come by simply to watch a game, enjoy a great drink and soak in the X-Golf experience.

In this full-time position, you will be reporting directly to the owner and supporting them in the management of the team, schedule, inventorying, food/drink creation and overall operations. Our business is exploding, and this role is pivotal as we continue on that path. You will be a leader and mentor to the staff in both an administrative and hands-on role that will have you in front of and behind the bar.

X-Golf Methuen is located at The Loop, has eight state-of-the-art golf simulators, a private room and a gorgeous bar to create a unique entertainment space.

Essential tasks of the Job

· Oversight of operations of the facility in a manner that aligns and enhances the owner’s goals and objectives

· Maintain and coordinate shifts as to provide proper coverage and staffing for the optimal guest experience with an eye on margin

· Ensure delivery of a standardized food & drink menus, oversee staff and maintain integrity of a consistent presentation and quality of all drinks and food

· Work with our vendors and brands in the development of seasonal cocktails, menu items and promotions

· Creation and management of special events such as a lady's night, Veteran’s events, Battle of the Badges and other experiential programs

· Ensure the facility is properly cleaned and maintained by the staff and outside vendor(s)

· Ensure opening/closing procedures are followed

· Work with Owner to ensure proper staffing levels, hire/terminate staff, identify growth paths and build a highly-competitive, performance-based compensation plan for the team

· Track, order and receive orders from food and beverage vendors

· Perform preventative maintenance on bar and kitchen equipment

· Monitoring/adjusting music selection and volume

· Perform basic SIM maintenance, repair and testing to ensure that the SIMs are always operating properly

· Maintain, organize and document a supply of spare and replacement parts for simulators.

· Training and testing of all staff with a specific focus on Intro Speech and “basic” SIM maintenance and fixes. All staff must be tested on a regular basis.

· Oversee and document inventory on a regular basis

· Promote the X-Golf Methuen (and future locations) brand and experience

· Greeting guests and setting them up on the golf simulators including giving a brief demo speech

· Preparing and delivering food and beverages (both alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages) for the guest and delivering excellent customer service

· A commitment to 40 hours per week.

· On-Call, as needed, for operational concerns, support or issues.

Experience

· Three or more years of management specifically with F&B operations

· Demonstrated experience of managing people, schedules, inventory and process

· Knowledge of popular cocktails and drink preparation

· Experience in inventorying and ordering of food and beverage

· Ability to work in a fast paced, fun, and energetic sports bar and entertainment facility

· Must be willing and able to work a varied schedule including evenings, nights, and weekends and holidays.

· Basic knowledge of golf helpful but not required

· Knowledge of or experience with Square for Restaurants and/or Uschedule a plus, but not required

· Must have a valid alcohol awareness certification or be capable of obtaining certification

· Possess knowledge of food preparation techniques, service standards, guest relations and etiquette

· Must possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money

· Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.

· Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Compensation for this position includes the following:

· Annual salary commensurate with experience

· 5% commission on Private Event sales generated directly by GM

· 5% commission on special events developed by GM

· Other than those expressly written in this offer letter, no other compensation or benefits are paid nor should be implied.

The following criteria for this position must be met at all times:

· Open to Close availability on all seven days per week with a focus on evenings and weekends.

· While a regular schedule will be established, it is subject to change based on the needs of the business

· A commitment to 40 hours per week.

· On-Call, as needed, for operational concerns, support or issues.
