Wiss & Company, LLP is Hiring a Human Resources Director Near Middlesex, NJ

Background:

A Wiss client in the Not-for-Profit industry is seeking a Director of Human Resources. This is an extremely hands-on position reporting to the CEO. The ideal candidate MUST possess prior experience within the Not-for-Profit industry and demonstrate experience in all KEY Human Resources disciplines.

The position will be ONSITE 5 days to start. There may be an opportunity for 1 day remote after a period of time. Compensation is outlined below! LOCAL CANDIDATES to New Jersey ONLY!!!!

Core Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, onboarding, and compensation.
  • Serve as a consultative resource to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Manage the talent acquisition process, which includes recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Lead benefits administration process including partnering with brokers to evaluate applicable benefits programs and perform associated cost/benefit analysis.
  • Partner with Management to execute a structured performance management process which encompass goals/targets, feedback and be leveraged as part of the overall compensation process.
  • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs along with employee recognition programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Provide all required reporting to associated governmental agencies.
  • Review existing employee handbook and recommend updates to ensure alignment with current organizational polices and practices.

Qualifications/Education:

  • B.S. in Human Resources or related field required, certifications such as SPHR, SHRM-SCP, PHR preferred and/or MHRM a PLUS.
  • 8-10 years of progressive human resources experience and a proven track record of success in human resources management.
  • Prior experience in the Not-for-Profit sector highly preferred
  • Embrace and be passionate about being part of a mission-driven organization.
  • Possess technical skills in the areas of MS Office Suite and ADP with the aptitude to learn other software systems.
  • Willingness to be “hands-on” and agile to best support the overall organization.
  • Demonstrate polished verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to partner with all levels of the organization.

Target Compensation - $130-$140k salary comprehensive benefits including automatic annual 403b contribution!
